The Wineyards

The processed grapes come from our own wineyards or from selected grape producers. There are different soil types on the island: clay soils, sandy soils and light brown earth soils. Our wineyards are usually set up in East West direction, as the main winds are. Due to the strong winds and strong vegetation we prefered a density of 4000/Ha of rootstock.

This allows us easy working conditions, low yields and a good aeration together with high leafwalls. With a great amount of leafwork we are capable to keep the amount of chemicals used at a minimum. The grapes are regularly checked for illness and fungus and this, very intensively before harvest. Only perfect grapes are harvested and immediately processed in the winery.
